New eco-anchorage regulations in France

March 2021 saw France implement new regulations prohibiting yachts and superyachts over 24m (78ft) from anchoring on protected Posidonia seagrass beds.

In the Balearics the eco-anchorage legislation was introduced in 2018, and has since helped preserve these subaquatic meadows in the area, but there is still a lot of progress to be made to try to discourage boats from discharging sewage into the waters around the islands and protecting the natural beauty and value of our marine environment.
