The biggest beach clean up ever made on the island
The Plastic Free Menorca Alliance is looking for volunteers to carry out the biggest beach clean up on the island
The initiative, in collaboration with the Menorca Music Festival, will take place this Friday 5th July from 18.30h to 20.30h in Son Bou
The Plastic Free Menorca Alliance, driven by Menorca Preservation, is calling on the community to take part in a plastic collection on Friday 5th July from 18.30h to 20.30h on Son Bou beach. The initiative, organised in collaboration with the Menorca Music Festival, aims to result in the biggest ever beach clean-up in Menorca:
Marta Pérez, coordinator of the Alliance, points out that “we have consulted the member organisations of the Alliance, and we believe that the largest plastic collection that has been carried out to date in Menorca has had the participation of around 100 volunteers. With the support of the Menorca Music Festival, we would like to surpass this figure and achieve the largest plastic collection organised on the island”, and adds: “taking advantage of the fact that there are many visitors to the island at the moment, we believe it is very feasible to organise a macro-plastic collection to give more visibility to this important environmental problem that affects our natural environments so much”.
The Menorca Music Festival, explains that “to reward those who participate in the collection, we will offer discount codes to all participants and we will raffle 4 double tickets to attend the Menorca Music Festival 2024”.
How to participate?
Participants must register at this link and come to the Son Bou beach (car park) next Friday 5 July at 18.30h wearing a blue T-shirt.
