Si tu reacción ha sido…”¿¿¿Cómo???” La respuesta es: “¡Pues sí, en MeP también estamos alucinando!”
Estamos ilusionadísimas de poder anunciar que la banda británica Depeche Mode, en colaboración con la marca de relojes de lujo Hublot, se suman a nuestra lucha contra la contaminación por plásticos en Menorca otorgando más de 85,000€ a Menorca Preservation a través del Conservation Collective, la red de fundaciones de la que formamos parte. Estos fondos serán destinados íntegramente a reforzar las acciones que estamos llevando a cabo desde nuestra Alianza Menorca Sin Plástico.

¿Qué vamos a hacer gracias a este apoyo?
Seguir desarrollando acciones de sensibilización que pongan el foco en la grave problemática de los plásticos para nuestros entornos, así como continuar informando a la ciudadanía y al sector empresarial sobre buenas prácticas y la normativa vigente.
Aumentar el número de empresas y entidades comprometidas con la reducción del uso del plástico en sus establecimientos a través de las certificaciones Plastic Free.
Ampliar la red de puntos de reutilización de artículos de playa, instalando 10 nuevos puntos en establecimientos y playas de alta afluencia turística, y ampliando así las acciones dentro de las “0 Plastic Experiences” de 0 Plastic Menorca.
Reforzar la iniciativa PescArt Menorca, enfocada en dar una segunda vida a redes de pesca descartadas.

El mes pasado celebramos en la Sala Albert Camus de San Luis un primer encuentro para presentar la Propuesta de Gobernanza social y participativa para la Reserva Marina de la Isla del Aire, una iniciativa que venimos trabajando desde hace unos meses en colaboración con otras entidades locales como GOB Menorca, OBSAM-IME y la Estación de Investigación Jaume Ferrer, que busca poner en valor la Reserva Marina y ampliar sus beneficios tanto a nivel ambiental como también, para la comunidad que la rodea.

We are thrilled to announce that the British band Depeche Mode, in collaboration with the luxury watch brand Hublot, are joining our fight against plastic pollution in Menorca by donating over 85,000€ to Menorca Preservation via their amazing collaboration with the Conservation Collective, the network of foundations of which we are part. These funds will go entirely to reinforce the actions that we are carrying out from our Alianza Plastic Free Menorca.

What are we going to do thanks to their support?

Continue to carry out awareness-raising actions that focus on the huge environmental impact of plastic pollution on our environments, as well as continue to inform the public and the business sector on best practices and how we can contribute to reducing plastic pollution on our island.
Increase the number of businesses and organisations committed to reducing the use of single-use plastic in their establishments through our Plastic Free certifications.

Expand the network of reuse points for beach items by installing 10 new points in selected touristic establishments and beaches, and thus expanding the actions offered within 0 Plastic Menorca‘s “0 Plastic Experiences”.

Strengthen our PescArt Menorca initiative, focused on upcycling discarded fishing nets.

Last month we held a workshop on a Social and Participatory Governance Proposal for the Isla del Aire Marine Reserve at the Albert Camus Hall in San Luis, an initiative that we have been working on for some months in collaboration with other local organisations such as GOB Menorca, OBSAM-IME and the Jaume Ferrer Research Station, with the aim to grow awareness and participation in the protection of this amazing area.
