CALL for Technical Consultancy for PlasticLab Menorca
Menorca Preservation, through the Plastic Free Menorca Alliance, we are launching a call for technical consultancy services to support the initial implementation of PlasticLab Menorca — an open-source, community-driven plastic recycling workshop inspired by the Precious Plastic model.
The selected consultant or entity will provide technical advice and operational support for the setup of the lab, including equipment procurement, installation, training, and early-stage supervision.
Scope of Work (June–December 2025)
- Define the scale and work plan for PlasticLab based on available funding.
- Identify, acquire, and install recycling machinery (shredder, extruder, injection machine, and press).
- Train a local team (4 people) in equipment use.
- Supervise operations during the first six months.
- Develop a preventive maintenance plan.
Budget
Maximum available funding: €7,000 (plus VAT)
Desired Profile (Individual or Entity)
- Background in industrial or mechanical engineering.
- Experience with machinery and workshop setups.
- Familiarity with the Precious Plastic ecosystem.
- Ability to provide clear, autonomous technical guidance.
- Residency in Menorca or availability to travel is a plus.
